The Festival Chopin de Valldemossa 2023 will take place in August with four recitals in the cloister and church of the Carthusian monastery of Valldemossa. The concerts will focus on the piano and the music of Frédéric Chopin. Every Sunday in August, the municipality will host one of these classic Mallorcan summer musical events.

This year’s programme, according to the Asociación Festivales Chopin de Valldemossa, kicks off on Sunday the 6th of August. The pianist Oliver Kern will open the festival. This will be followed on Sunday the 13th of August by the pianist Anton Gerzenberg. The concert on Sunday 20 August will feature the pianist and conductor Stanislav Khristenko. Finally, on Sunday 27th August, the pianist Albert Díaz, the soprano Irene Mas, the mezzo-soprano Marina Pardo, the tenor Antoni Aragón, and the instrumental group conducted by Vicent Balaguer and Smeral Spahiu will perform.

During this edition of the Festival Chopin de Valldemossa, the artists will perform works by Miquel Capllonch and a premiere piece by composer Carme Fernández Vidal. The poster for this year’s festival includes a graphic selection by Ñaco Fabré. As a parallel activity to the festival, an exhibition by this artist will be inaugurated on 4 August at 20:30 in the chapterhouse. Visitors will be able to see paintings and sculptures in an exhibition that will be open to the public until 27 August.
