Palma airport closed the month of September with a recovery of 97.3% of the passengers recorded in the same month of 2019. In total, 3,663,507 passengers were registered. Of the total number of passengers in September, 3,660,667 were commercial passengers and 770,883 flew domestic flights, while 2,889,794 flew international routes.

The figures show that the volume of passengers lost during the years most affected by the pandemic has recovered. Moreover, in terms of operations, the airport handled a total of 25,797, which is 0.3% more than in September 2019. Of these, 25,506 were commercial flights.

Germany, in the lead

The countries with the most passengers during the month of September were Germany, with 1,194,126; Spain, with 770,883; the United Kingdom, with 719,558 and France, with 144,201 passengers. Italy, meanwhile, is the market that grew the most, specifically by 25.4%, with 19,331 more passengers than in September 2019.

Between January and September, a total of 23,603,947 passengers transited through the airport facilities, a figure that implies a recovery of 95% compared to the same period in 2019. Of these, 23,592,139 were passengers on commercial flights.

Between take-offs and landings, 179,399 movements were carried out, an increase of 0.6%, of which 177,265 corresponded to commercial operations.
