The opening of shops on Sundays and public holidays for 2023 in Mallorca is now known. Which ten Sundays and public holidays will shops be open? The Directorate General of Commerce, meeting at the Consellería de Transición Energética, Sectores Productivos y Memoria Democrática to the Comisión Interinsular Asesora del sector, has addressed the calendar of Sundays and public holidays of commercial opening for 2023.

The Commission, which brings together employers, trade unions and consumer associations, voted to approve the proposal. In total, it lists the ten days on which shops will be open on Sundays and public holidays for 2023 in Mallorca:

  • 15 January
  • 12th March
  • 6th April
  • 25th June
  • 15th of August
  • 10 September
  • 26th November
  • 8 December
  • 17 December
  • 24 December

The Commission has also agreed that the two days that local councils can change are 12 March and 25 June. For this reason, local councils have until 15 November to notify the Directorate General for Trade of any possible changes.

The Inter-island Trade Advisory Commission is made up of representatives of the Govern’s Directorate Generals for Trade and Consumer Affairs. It also includes the Island Councils; the Federation of Local Entities of the Balearic Islands (FELIB); the employers’ associations of small businesses on the Islands (AFEDECO, PIMECO, PIMEEF and ASCOME) and of large supermarkets (ANGED); the trade unions (CCOO, UGT and USO), and the Balearic Islands consumer and user associations CONSUBAL and ASUFIN.
