In addition to the concerts scheduled from February 4 to 13, Jazz Palma has organized various activities related to this musical genre in the municipal libraries of Ciutat.

The Racó del Jazz can be visited at the Son Rapinya Library (Catherine March Street, 4 A) from February 1 to 14. You can enjoy a selection of books to learn more about the history of this musical genre and its most important artists.

There will also be CDs and movies with jazz as the main theme. In addition, for each loan made of one of the books, records or DVDs of the Racó del Jazz, a ticket for the festival will be given away.

All libraries will offer the criminal Jazz reading guide from February 1 to 28. Thus, citizens will discover through a QR code (which is also on the palmacultura.cat website) the material related to jazz in the municipal network of libraries, which is organized into three blocks:

novel and jazz

Jazz music produced in Mallorca

cinema and jazz

For his part, the emeritus professor of Spanish Literature at the UIB, Francisco Díaz de Castro, will offer the commented reading Jazz and poetry at the Ramon Llull Library (street of the Balearic Institute without a number) on February 10 at 6:30 p.m. In addition to reading poems from his latest book, Let’s get lost (editorial Vandalia), which deals with the subject of jazz. It will also deal with the work of other authors who have made this musical genre the protagonist of their lyrics at some point.

Finally, it should be noted that, as with all the activities carried out in the municipal theatres, library users will be able to buy their tickets for the Jazz Palma concerts for 5 euros.
