The Directorate General for Culture has published the two calls for exams to obtain the official Catalan certificate in 2024. There will be two dates, one in January and the other in May. The novelty of 2024 is that tests at all levels will be offered on both dates of the year, in response to the demand of different groups who asked to be able to opt for all the certificates in both January and May.

Previously, only A2, B1, B2 and C1 level tests were offered in the January call, while in the May test to obtain the official Catalan certificate, the higher level (C2) and the administrative language (LA) were added to the previous certificates.

As usual, the first exams for 2024 will be held in January, and registrations can be made from 7 to 20 November. The written tests, which make up the first part of the exams, will begin on 13 January and end on 27 January. Registration for the second round will take place from 3 to 16 April and the written tests will be held between 25 May and 8 June.

As in the previous calls, some cases are established for bonuses or exemption from payment of the test fee: among others, being unemployed, receiving a public pension or having a disability of 33% or more.
