Palma de Primavera 2023

Since yesterday, the courtyards of Palma have been hosting the Palma de Primavera 2023, a festival that offers four free concerts in emblematic venues around the city. The next ones will be held on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of June in the Official College of Architects of the Balearic Islands, Can Oms and the Centre of Military History and Culture of the Balearic Islands (Patio de Santa Margarita).

This year’s festival is dedicated “to the Mediterranean luminosity of Joaquín Sorolla, the nostalgic sensitivity of Pablo Neruda, the imaginative fantasy of J.R.R. Tolkien and the innovative genius of Pablo Picaso”, the Palma Town Hall reported in a communiqué. With this initiative, “we become aware of their absences and renew our artistic commitment to their immaterial and timeless work”, they added.

Programme:

After the inaugural concert that took place yesterday in the Patio de la Misericordia (Concert I. Absences I. Joaquín Sorolla, 100th anniversary – J.R.R. Tolkien, 50th anniversary), these are the performances that are scheduled:
