The eighth edition of Fira B! 2023 is the stage for the most important professional music and performing arts market in the Balearic Islands. It will be held on October 9, 10, 11 and 12, and the activities related to music will take place from November 2 to 5

The performing arts program of the Fira B! 2023 has a total of 27 shows of theater, circus, dance, new formats and street. The guest country of this eighth edition is Chile, with the presence of two Chilean companies in the program: Cía Interdram and Cía LaRe-Sentida. As well as artists from the Canary Islands, the Valencian Community and Catalonia.

Highlights of activities

The opening event will be Monday, October 9, at 7 p.m. at the Teatro Principal with the performance of ‘La Posibilidad de la ternura’, by the Chilean company La Re-Sentida (Marco Layera / Carolina Maza). This is the Spanish premiere of this play that reflects on masculinity from the point of view of young adolescents. Subsequently, the play will be shown in Madrid and Barcelona.

On the same day, at 9 p.m. also at the Teatro Principal, “Les preposicions” will be staged, a play by playwright Aina de Cos, a co-production of the Teatre Principal and El Somni Produccions.

Fira B! 2023

The closing of Fira B! will be on Thursday, October 12, at the Teatre Principal. At 8 p.m. Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou will perform “A beginning_*Expanded Version”, a winning piece of the IEB 2022 creation grants, co-production of the Auditori de Barcelona, the Centre Coregraphique National de Orleans (France) and the Teatre Principal de Palma.

The complete program is available here. The pieces that are part of the program have been selected among the 300 proposals submitted through the open call that closed at the beginning of the year.

In addition, the performing arts program will be held on October 9, 10, 11 and 12, and the music program from November 2 to 5.

Fira B! combines programming and Professional Conferences, i.e., activities aimed at the professional sector that will take place at the Teatre Mar i Terra.

The appointment with the performing arts will always take place in emblematic spaces and scenarios of the city of Palma. Thus its program will take place in the municipal theaters Mar i Terra and Xesc Forteza; the Teatre Principal de Palma; the Museu d’Art Contemporani Es Baluard; l’Espai el Tub; the Plaça Major; the plaça Miquel Maura (in front of the Teatre Xesc Forteza) and the Rambla (outside the Teatre Principal de Palma).
