Palma de Mallorca-Son Sant Joan Airport experienced a significant increase in April, recording over 3 million passengers (3,010,158), a 7.2% rise compared to the same period in 2024. Growth was clearly driven by international connections, which brought in more than 2.2 million travellers, an increase of 10.2% compared to April last year. In contrast, domestic flights saw a slight decrease of 0.5%, with 772,660 passengers, reflecting more moderate activity in the domestic market. It is worth noting that Holy Week in 2025 took place in April, unlike the previous year, when it fell in March.

In terms of operations, April also set a record with 22,552 flight movements — both take-offs and landings — at Palma Airport. Of these, more than 69% were international flights, highlighting the airport’s strong focus on the global market.
The impact of international tourism also extends to the year-to-date figures: between January and April, the airport welcomed 6.5 million passengers, a 4.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024, cementing Palma de Mallorca’s role as a strategic hub for Mediterranean air traffic. Additionally, aircraft movements rose by 2.9%, reaching over 53,000 operations, signalling increased activity and demand in the region.
