The Balearic Islands received 3,065,811 tourists in July 2026, 0.22% more than in the same month last year. Visitor numbers therefore remained virtually stable at the height of the summer season. Mallorca accounted for almost two million tourists, although it recorded a year-on-year fall of 0.52%.

Of all the visitors who arrived in the islands, 2,569,662 came from abroad, representing 83.82% of the total. The remaining 496,149 were residents of other Spanish autonomous communities.
By market, Germany once again ranked first, with 597,889 tourists, although this represented a fall of 4.06%. It was followed by the United Kingdom, with 586,130 visitors and an increase of 1.44%, and the domestic market, which rose by 0.73%.
Mallorca receives almost two million tourists in July
The trend varied from island to island. Mallorca received 1,983,411 tourists, 0.52% fewer than in July 2025. Menorca and Eivissa-Formentera, by contrast, recorded increases.
The figures for July were as follows:
- Mallorca: 1,983,411 tourists, down 0.52%.
- Eivissa-Formentera: 711,357 tourists, up 0.65%.
- Menorca: 371,042 tourists, up 3.50%.
There were also significant differences in the share of domestic tourism. In Menorca, visitors from other Spanish autonomous communities accounted for 36.05% of the total. This percentage fell to 21.43% in Eivissa-Formentera and 10.58% in Mallorca.
More than 11 million tourists by July
Between January and July, the Balearic Islands received a total of 11,189,324 tourists, an increase of 1.77% compared with the same period in 2025.
The cumulative figures by island were:
- Mallorca: 8,039,854 tourists, up 1.69%.
- Eivissa-Formentera: 2,124,827 tourists, up 1.40%.
- Menorca: 1,024,644 tourists, up 3.14%.
In the first seven months of the year, 9,164,484 international tourists arrived in the islands, 1.85% more than a year earlier. They were joined by 2,024,842 visitors residing in other Spanish autonomous communities, an increase of 1.41%.
Three out of four tourists stay in hotels
Hotels and similar establishments accommodated 75.43% of tourists who visited the islands in July. A further 12.68% stayed in their own properties or other non-market accommodation, while 10.19% used rented accommodation. The remaining 1.71% stayed in other forms of market accommodation.
In addition, 63.85% organised their trip without booking a package holiday.
The figures come from the FRONTUR statistics compiled by IBESTAT in collaboration with INE and are provisional. The survey measures arrivals of tourists who are not resident in the Balearic Islands and excludes same-day visitors who do not stay overnight in the islands.
