After being closed for two years, the Consell de Mallorca reopens the doors of the Misericordia chapel with the exhibition Espacios Naturales (Natural Spaces). The exhibition offers a representation of the natural spaces belonging to the Ministry of Defence included in the Natura 2000 Network. In a press release, the Consell de Mallorca explained that the aim is to showcase the valuable diversity of flora and fauna present in the enclaves that are used by the military. The exhibition also highlights the measures taken to protect and conserve the environment.

Espacios Naturales will be on display until 2 March from Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm. The vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councillor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, has stressed that little by little they are fulfilling their desire to open the spaces of La Misericordia to the public: “We had the objective of turning the building into a true cultural centre and this is what is happening, all the rooms are full of cultural proposals and we continue to work on the programme. There is a great cultural wealth in Mallorca and we want to showcase it”. Currently, two major exhibitions related to landscapes can be visited: Natural Spaces and Geodesy.
