Coinciding with Sant Jordi’s Day, from the 19th to the 23rd of April Marratxí will be dedicated to literature, theatre, stories and music in a new edition of the ‘Setmana de les Lletres’ (Letters Week). Numerous cultural activities have been programmed for this event, including book presentations, concerts and plays. “The main objective is to turn the municipality into a cultural reference point on the island,” says the mayor of Marratxí, Miquel Cabot.

These are some of the highlights:

Wednesday 19

Presentation of the book “Patrimoni i cultura matemàtica a les Illes Balears’ by Pep Lluís Pol at the Museu del Fang de Sa Cabaneta.

Friday 21st

Presentation of the story “La Sibil-la”, with texts by Josep Campins and illustrations by Robert Campillo, in front of the Pòrtol municipal library. At the same venue, Andreu Valor will give a concert to present his new album “Un nou món”.

Saturday 22nd

Those attending will walk through the streets of Pla de na Tesa, Cas Capità, es Pont d’Inca and Sant Llatzet through the “Llegendes Teatralitzades” (Dramatised Tales), performed by Gaspar Valero.

Sunday 23rd

Sant Jordi’s Day will be celebrated with activities for all audiences: music therapy for babies by Laura Cañellas, impro theatre, rose workshops and bookmarks (Enfangats), etc.
