Felipe Moreno, founder and president of the School of Tourism Felipe Moreno, a reference in the tourism sector, has died at the age of 93 in Palma

Representatives of the main institutions of the islands, Govern Balear and Consell de Mallorca, and the tourism and business sector, Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca, PIMEM and CAEB have lamented Thursday the death of Felipe Moreno, president and founder of the School of Tourism Felipe Moreno.

The Felipe Moreno-Nebrija Higher Education Center has expressed its sorrow for the death at the age of 93 of the founder of the School of Tourism of the Balearic Islands (ETB), Felipe Moreno.

Born in Granada in 1929, he graduated in Scholastic Philosophy in 1952 at the University of Comillas (Madrid) and in Philosophy and Letters five years later at the University of Barcelona.

In 1959 he founded l‘Orfeó Municipal de Palma, of which he was director until the late sixties. In 1964 he created the School of Tourism and became its director. The center achieved prestige beyond the island, especially in South America, from where they requested his advice on tourism.
