The Orquesta Sinfónica Illes Balears (OSIB) has unveiled its exciting 2024-2025 season, which includes over 50 concerts across regular programming, extraordinary events, operas, and educational cycles. The main subscription season will feature 11 concerts at the Auditorium of Palma, taking place from October 31, 2024, to May 8, 2025.

Subscription Program: Dates and Featured Artists

The season will open on October 31, 2024, with an inaugural concert featuring Berg’s *Concerto in Memory of an Angel for Violin and Orchestra* and Schubert’s *Symphony “The Great”*. Violinist Sergei Dogadin will be the guest soloist, with Pablo Mielgo conducting the orchestra.

Some highlights of the season include:

  • January 16, 2025: *Piano Concerto* by E. Grieg, with pianist Eva Gevorgyan.
  • February 27, 2025: *Gala de las Illes Balears*, with free admission, featuring local artists like Simón Orfila and Júlia Colom.
  • April 3, 2025: *Symphony No. 11* by Shostakovich.
  • May 8, 2025: Closing concert with violinist Alena Baeva, performing Sibelius’s *Violin Concerto* and Brahms’s *Symphony No. 4*.

Extraordinary Concerts

The OSIB will also offer 5 extraordinary concerts at the Teatro Principal of Palma, including:

  • September 26, 2024: Jazz concert with pianist Marco Mezquida.
  • December 5, 2024: Narration by José Luis Garci and Inocencio Arias.
  • March 13, 2025: Vivaldi’s *The Four Seasons* conducted by Francisco Fullana.
  • April 25, 2025: Violinist Alexandra Conunova with conductor Sascha Goetzel.
