The tenth edition of Evolution! Mallorca International Film Festival closed with the awards ceremony that took place at the Palau de Congressos de Palma. French filmmaker Suzanne Lindón won the best picture award for “Spring Blossom”, a film that portrays the life of a teenage girl who gets bored with boys her age.

Elia Galera and Eva Martín won the award for best actress for the work they did in the film “Bread of lemon with poppy seeds”, by Benito Zambrano, which also won the award for best casting. In the actor category, Marc Bonnín won the award for his role in “Yéyé”.

Another winner was the Mallorcan Marcos Cabotá. His documentary “Sonic Fantasy”, about the life of singer Michael Jackson, received a special mention. Joan Bover, for her part, won the award for best documentary short film of the Balearic Islands with “Ulisses”. In the best documentary feature category, the winner was Alberto Matos with “Living without a country”, about the genocide in Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Before the awards ceremony, “The Laureate” was screened, the story that tells an aspect of the love life of British writer Robert Graves before living in Mallorca.

Neus Cortés, who received a special mention for his role in “Volatile”, led the evening alongside Sandra Lipski, director of the festival.
