Diving into the waters of Santanyí is like discovering an underwater universe that captivates from the very first immersion. The coastline of this southeastern Mallorcan municipality shines not only for its paradisiacal coves but also for its exceptional marine biodiversity.

Now, with a newly published snorkeling guide by the Ajuntament de Santanyí, residents and visitors have a new way to enjoy the sea at their fingertips: exploring 12 surface diving routes designed for all levels.

An Underwater World to Discover

These itineraries cover some of the most spectacular coves in southeastern Mallorca, such as Cala Esmeralda, Cala Gran, Cala d’Or, and Cala Santanyí. From the turquoise waters of Cala Mondragó to the untouched tranquility of Es Caragol, each route offers a chance to discover unique seascapes and rich biodiversity.

During the dives, one may spot white seabream, saddled bream, gilthead seabream, ancient posidonia meadows, or curious nudibranchs, as well as explore small caves, rock formations, or white sandy bottoms reflecting the Mediterranean light.
