The acting president of the Government and candidate for investiture, Pedro Sánchez, is scheduled to meet with the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, today Monday at 5 pm in a room of the Congress of Deputies. The meeting takes place after last Wednesday Feijóo refused to meet with Sánchez excusing that he had “private agenda”

This meeting will be one of the many that in the framework of his investiture attempt will be carried out this week by the socialist leader. This Friday he plans to have concluded the round of contacts with the parliamentary groups, except Vox, and the sectorial organizations.

Designated candidate for investiture by the King last Tuesday, Sánchez announced that he wanted to meet with all the parliamentary groups, excluding Vox and starting with Sumar, his future coalition partner if he manages to be re-elected. With Diaz, he has set a deadline of October to reach a pact.

The amnesty of the ‘procés’ demanded by ERC and Junts to support the secretary general of the PSOE is the main stumbling block before Sánchez.
In his round of contacts for the investiture, this Monday morning, he plans to meet with the general secretaries of UGT and CCOO, Pepe Álvarez and Unai Sordo. On Tuesday it will be the turn of the BNG, the PNV and representatives of the third sector. On Wednesday, Sánchez will meet with ERC, UPN and Coalición Canaria, as well as with the CEOE employers’ association and representatives of the world of culture. And finally on Friday he will close the round of contacts with Junts per Catalunya, EH Bildu and several environmental organizations.
