Chef José Cortés - Taste of Dublin

The gastronomy of Mallorca has traveled to Ireland to participate in the gastronomic fair Taste of Dublin, a meeting for gastronomy professionals that took place between 15 and 18 June. Within the stand of Turespaña, the local product of the island has shared space with four other Spanish destinations: Cambrils, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Zaragoza.

The chef José Cortés, president of the Association of Cooks Based in the Balearic Islands, has prepared different elaborations for this fair, “fundamentally experiential”, as reported in a statement by the Consell de Mallorca. Oli de Mallorca, Flor de Sal, Sobrassada de Mallorca, Tap de Cortí, Ensaïmada de Mallorca and Ametla de Mallorca have accompanied Cortés’ recipes, which visitors have been able to taste, together with white and red wines from DO Binissalem and Vi de la Terra.

“It should be noted that the gastronomic product is one of the priority tourist attractions for the promotional strategy of Mallorca for its ability to attract visitors out of high season and for its value as a transmitter of culture, tradition and local product”, have claimed from the Consell.
