Like every first weekend in August, the popular walk “des Güell a Lluc a Peu” will be held this Saturday 6th August. Also known as Lluc a Peu, this night walk consists of walking the route from Plaza Güell in Palma to the Lluc de Escorca Monastery, in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. Every year, families and friends get together to do this route that goes through different villages of the Raiger, passing through Inca to finish the steepest stretch up to Lluc.

According to the organisation “des Güell a Lluc a Peu” (the Güell Group), there are more than 2,000 people registered for this walk. Although it is not surprising that more than 50% of the total registrations are made at the last minute. From 13:00 to 19:00 there will be a table with volunteers at the Plaza Güell in Palma, where registrations for this march will be open. The mayor of Palma, José Hila, together with the Minister of the Presidency, Javier de Juan, is scheduled to kick off the Lluc a Peu 2022 at 23:00 in Palma’s Plaza Güell.

During the early hours of the morning of the 6th to the 7th of August, the march “des Güell a Lluc a Peu 2022” will cause road closures to ensure the safety of the participants. The Consell de Mallorca has announced the partial closure of some roads, which will begin at 00:00 and will be cut along the route.
