The Alcúdia Sports Centre will host the third Diada de Baile en Línea (Line Dancing Day) on Saturday 7 November, an event organised by the Consell de Mallorca that will bring together older people and associations from different municipalities across the island. The event will run from 10:00 to 16:00 and include dance classes, adapted routines and a musical performance.

The initiative forms part of the programme of activities for older people in Mallorca promoted by the island authority. Its aim is to encourage active ageing through physical exercise and provide an opportunity for participants who share an interest in dancing to meet and socialise. To this end, the Consell has invited all federations and associations for older people across the island.

Programme and timetable for the Line Dancing Day in Alcúdia

The event will begin at 10:00 with line dancing classes led by specialist instructors. Participants will be able to learn and practise different routines adapted to their abilities, whether they already attend line dancing classes through their associations or would like to try it for the first time.

Lunch will take place at 13:30, and the programme will also include a musical performance. The event will finish at 16:00.

This third edition expands the range of leisure activities for older people in Alcúdia and offers an opportunity to enjoy a day of dancing and socialising with participants from other towns and villages across Mallorca.

Line dancing as an activity to encourage active ageing

Line dancing combines music, movement and coordination, making it a suitable form of physical exercise for older people. As a group activity, it also encourages social interaction and participation in shared experiences.

Through this initiative, the Consell de Mallorca aims to strengthen ties between associations for older people and promote active lifestyles. The Diada brings together those who regularly attend dance classes in their municipalities and others interested in the activity, offering a day that combines leisure, physical exercise and social interaction.
