The Consell de Mallorca will allocate €2.8 million in new grants to preserve the cultural landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana. The funding is aimed at individuals, agricultural holdings, local councils, non-profit organisations and land stewardship organisations, which may submit applications until 10 August.

The grants are divided into three funding lines. The main scheme has a budget of €2.15 million for individuals and agricultural holdings. A further €550,000 will be allocated to local councils and €100,000 to land stewardship organisations.
According to the Councillor for the Presidency and Vice-President of the Consorci Serra de Tramuntana, Toni Fuster, the budget demonstrates “the Consell de Mallorca’s commitment to protecting the land and heritage of the Serra de Tramuntana”.
New features of the grants for the cultural landscape of the Serra de Tramuntana
For the first time, the calls for applications include a specific funding line for work on the traditional water network, with grants of up to €25,000 per project for individuals and local councils.
Another new measure will allow dry-stone terraces and walls to be rebuilt before the technical inspection when damage has been caused by storms, poses a safety risk or blocks access along paths and roads. In these cases, applicants will need to provide reports confirming the situation.
In addition, the deadline for completing and providing justification for the subsidised work has been extended to 31 March 2027.
Local councils will also have more time to prepare or update their municipal catalogues. The maximum grant available for hiring specialised technical teams will be €15,000.
Grants for land stewardship
The call for applications aimed at land stewardship organisations maintains a maximum grant of €10,000 per project. The work must be carried out during 2026 and justified before 30 January 2027.
As a new requirement, organisations applying for grants for promotional activities must include products bearing the Serra de Tramuntana Quality Label.
