The Consul of Morocco in the Balearic Islands has thanked the support of the Balearic people after the minute of silence held this morning at the Consolat de Mar. The Govern de les Illes Balears has called the act in solidarity with the victims of the earthquake in Morocco and with all the Moroccan people

The president of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, along with the councilors, staff of the Government, authorities of the islands and representatives of the civilian population, has attended the minute of silence called in solidarity with the victims of the earthquake in Morocco, suffered in the country in the early hours of Friday to Saturday, and with all the Moroccan people.

For his part, the Moroccan consul in the Balearic Islands, Abdellah Bidoud, thanked the support shown by the Balearic Islands and the various authorities of the archipelago for “the gestures and give signs of being a brotherly country,” he said.

The minute of silence was also attended by the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés; the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, as well as other leaders of political parties, the Catholic Church and police and military commanders of the islands.
