Extreme heat is coming to Mallorca; after last week’s heatwave scorched the island, this week some areas of Mallorca will reach 43 degrees, according to information from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). Specifically, as of today, Monday, the orange alert has been activated in the interior of the island, between 12:00 and 19:00 hours, as the forecast is for the thermometer to reach 39º. In the south, the Serra de Tramuntana, the north and northeast the warning will be yellow. As far as the interior of Mallorca is concerned, maximum temperatures of 38º are forecast, and in the rest of the island, 36º. In addition, mist and dust in suspension are expected. The delegate of the Aemet in the Balearic Islands, María José Guerrero, has assured that “we can talk about the second heat wave of July, of the summer and of the year: from Monday until Wednesday, at least”.
