The Hospital Universitari Son Llàtzer carried out 7,917 surgical procedures between January and July 2026. This was 371 more than during the same period last year. Surgical procedures at Son Llàtzer have therefore increased by 4.92% in one year.

The increase is mainly concentrated in scheduled operations. The hospital has also recorded an increase in first consultations, while the overall volume of outpatient consultations has remained stable.

Scheduled surgery increases at Son Llàtzer

Between January and July, 7,027 scheduled operations were carried out, compared with 6,685 during the same months of 2025. The difference amounts to 342 procedures, an increase of 5.12%.

Emergency surgical activity also increased, although at a slower rate. Son Llàtzer carried out 890 emergency operations, 3.37% more than a year earlier.

The hospital has therefore increased both scheduled and emergency surgery. Planned operations account for the largest share, representing almost nine out of every ten procedures carried out up to July.

First consultations increase by 4.08%

Outpatient activity also slightly exceeded last year’s figures. Son Llàtzer handled 362,988 consultations between January and July, compared with 361,626 during the same period in 2025.

The increase was more significant for first appointments. The hospital went from 54,311 to 56,526 first consultations, representing an increase of 4.08%.

In absolute terms, this means 2,215 more new patients were seen for a first consultation than during the first seven months of 2025.

The figures therefore reflect an increase in activity at Son Llàtzer during 2026. This growth is particularly evident in scheduled operations and the care of new patients.
