Cançons de la Mediterrània 2026 (Songs of the Mediterranean 2026) will once again turn Ses Voltes and Bellver Castle into leading venues for Mediterranean-rooted music. The festival will hold its 42nd edition from 12 to 19 July with a programme of six concerts featuring artists from the Balearic Islands, the Iberian Peninsula and Italy.

Traditional music, poetry and Mediterranean sounds
The festival, which was first held in 1984, continues its commitment to Mediterranean-inspired music with a programme combining tradition, new artistic proposals and international performers.
The opening concert will be given by Música Nostra on Sunday 12 July at Ses Voltes. One of the Balearic Islands’ leading traditional and folk music groups will present Camí Florit, an album featuring original compositions based on poems by Catalan-language writers, with collaborations from Eliseo Parra, Rodrigo Cuevas, Tiu, Es Revetllers, Pere Mas and Na Stella. Admission will be free.
Two days later, Bellver Castle will host Debon canta Suau, a performance bringing together poetry and music through the poems of Pere Suau. The production features original music by pianist Antoni Bujosa and the voice of Pau Debon, lead singer of Antònia Font.
Francisco and Maria Mazzotta among the headline performers
The programme continues on 16 July with Hato Gató & amics at Ses Voltes. The ensemble, made up of 15 musicians under the direction of Jose Llorach, has established itself as a leading force in the reinterpretation of traditional music from the Iberian Peninsula and other folk repertoires.
One of the festival’s most eagerly awaited concerts takes place on 17 July at Bellver Castle, when Francisco performs alongside the Palma Municipal Band. The concert coincides with the band’s 60th anniversary and will be the only performance to begin at 9.00 pm.
On 18 July, Italian singer Maria Mazzotta will present Onde, the album that earned her the Loano National Prize for Traditional Italian Music. The festival will close on 19 July with Tumarí, a performance by L’Arannà blending the traditional music of Ibiza and Formentera with electronic sounds and traditional instruments.
