The garden of the La Misericòrdia cultural centre will host, for the first time, a Christmas craft fair on 19, 20 and 21 December, with the participation of 20 craftswomen and craftsmen from Mallorca. The initiative, organised by the Consell de Mallorca, joins the main Christmas plans in Palma and aims to give visibility to local craftsmanship and locally sourced products during the festive season.
The fair will offer the maximum number of places available and will showcase a wide variety of handcrafted products made in Mallorca, such as jewellery, costume jewellery, ceramics, painting, prints, screen-printing, artisanal pastries, herbalist products, traditional dolls, leatherwork and coffee roasted on the spot.
Opening hours:
-
Friday 19 December: from 11:00 to 20:30.
-
Saturday 20 December: from 10:00 to 20:30.
-
Sunday 21 December: from 10:00 to 20:00.
Tradition, decoration and family activities
One of the fair’s most emblematic features will be a wooden Christmas tree, hand-decorated with llengües fabrics, siurells, neules and palm ornaments, reinforcing the traditional, distinctly Mallorcan character of the event.
In addition, the fair forms part of the La Misericòrdia Christmas programme, so visitors will be able to enjoy daily activities for all ages, consolidating this event as one of the key cultural Christmas plans in Palma.

The Vice-President of the Consell de Mallorca and Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, explained that this first edition responds to a demand from the craft sector: “For some time, artisans have been asking for a space for visibility at this time of year. In this first edition, a total of twenty artisans will take part — the maximum number of places available — after we received more applications than we could accommodate.”
Roca stressed that the fair “arrives at a key time of the year, when Christmas shopping increases and the value of local, high-quality consumption is highlighted”.
Among the participating artisans are the screen printer Ferran Permanyer Molist; the beekeeper Miquel Monserrat Barceló; the painter Neus Paula Bosch Seguí; the jewellers Nina Schinneck, Lucia Magraner Lorenzo, Cristina Noemí Forteza Prats and Javier Remo Rinaldi; and the costume jewellery makers Maria Julia Ferian Arias, Alejandra Marcela Epifani and Antonia Provenzal Cifre.
Also taking part are the leather tanner Aina Torrents Reynés; the doll maker Francisca Nadal Valenzuela; the herbalist Patricia Daniela González Moreira; the ceramicists Valeria Elisabet Minjolou, Maria Carlota Mensua de Frutos and Carla Laredo Moreno; the interdisciplinary artisan Julian Bernardo Apud Bellanti; the coffee roaster Antonio Vallcaneras Bonet; the pastry maker Katharina Posani; and the enamel artist Carolina Ingrid Concha Fernández.
