Workplace accident rates continue to decrease in the Balearic Islands. According to the data analysed by the Tripartite Consultative Commission of the Labour and Social Security Inspectorate – chaired by the Minister of Labour, Public Function and Social Dialogue, Catalina Cabrer – workplace accidents have fallen by 9.6% between January and September this year compared with the same period in 2024. In the months of highest economic activity – July, August and September – the decline exceeds 1,200 accidents.

This drop consolidates a sustained downward trend that began after the economic reactivation following COVID-19: since 2022, the accumulated reduction has reached 28%. The Administration, employer organisations and trade unions agree that these results are the consequence of strengthened prevention measures and an improved safety culture within companies.

-
1,088 fixed-discontinuous contracts.
