Flights from Montreal will depart at 18:45 and land at Son Sant Joan Airport at 08:25 the following day, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. In the opposite direction, flights will depart from Palma at 12:15 and arrive in Montreal at 15:10, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
A bet on the Mediterranean
The new service is part of the airline’s international expansion strategy for summer 2026, which will also include new routes from Montreal to Catania, Sicily, as well as the return of connections from Toronto to Shanghai and Budapest.
“Next summer we will be launching new services to Sicily and Mallorca from our transatlantic hub in Montreal. Air Canada is the first Canadian airline to offer customers direct flights to these coveted Mediterranean destinations, and the only carrier operating scheduled services from Canada to Sicily and Mallorca, renowned for their stunning beaches, history and culture,” highlights Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Air Canada, on the airline’s website.
The Montreal–Palma direct flight will debut the Airbus A321XLR in Europe
“The wait is nearly over as the imminent arrival of the revolutionary Airbus A321XLR marks the next phase of Air Canada’s international growth. This innovative narrow-body aircraft opens up new and exciting global opportunities. Today we begin that journey of growth with the announcement of Palma as the first new destination made possible thanks to this fleet,” adds Galardo.
The A321XLR will be the first narrow-body aircraft in Air Canada’s fleet to feature lie-flat seats in Business Class, thus offering a wide-body experience on a narrow-body jet. It will have 182 seats, distributed between 14 seats in Signature Class (Business) and 168 in Economy Class. In addition, it will mark “the beginning of a new era in Air Canada’s cabin interiors, with a new design standard for the onboard experience.”
