Palma Town Hall inaugurates today Wednesday the Espai Cor, a new cultural space located in the hallway leading to the municipal offices, with the exhibition Ple al buit by the renowned Majorcan sculptor Joan Cortés. The exhibition, which will be open to the public until 13th April, marks the beginning of cultural activity in this venue, designed to become an artistic meeting point in the city.

The first deputy mayor and councillor for Culture, Javier Bonet, emphasised that the choice of the name Espai Cor is not accidental, but rather “a statement of intent“, as it symbolises “the strong commitment of the Ajuntament to consider art and culture as the heart that makes this city beat“. Bonet stressed that the aim of the space is to “create culture from feeling, emotion, and warm reception“, with the intention of reaching people of all ages and backgrounds.

The inaugural exhibition brings together sculptures and prints which, in Bonet’s words, aim to capture “the essence of beauty that has no defined time or place, but perhaps contains them all.”
