Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will extend its train services for Christmas and New Year during the festive period with special night trains for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, in addition to reinforcements and holiday timetables on the 26th of December and the 1st of January. With these measures, SFM aims to ensure comfortable and safe transport during the festive season, facilitating both daytime and nighttime travel during key moments for citizens.

Night Trains: Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve

For the second consecutive year, SFM will operate night trains on Christmas Eve, a service that began in 2022, and will extend it for New Year’s Eve. The trains will cover the routes Palma-Sa Pobla and Palma-Manacor, with stops at all intermediate stations.

Timetable for Christmas Eve (24th-25th December):
  • From Palma:
    • First train: 00:00 h
    • Last train: 04:00 h
  • From Manacor to Palma:
    • 01:20 h
    • 04:20 h
  • From Sa Pobla to Palma:
    • 02:30 h
    • 05:15 h
Timetable for New Year’s Eve (31st December – 1st January):
  • From Palma:
    • First train: 00:50 h
    • Last train: 04:00 h
  • From Manacor to Palma:
    • 02:10 h
    • 04:50 h
  • From Sa Pobla to Palma:
    • 02:30 h
    • 05:10 h

Service on the 1st of January: Full Holiday Timetable

As a new feature this year, on the 1st of January there will be a full holiday service, moving away from the reduced timetable of previous years.

Service on Christmas Day (25th December)

On Christmas Day, 49 trains will be offered, similar to the regular holiday service (65 trains).

Reinforcements for the 26th of December

On the 26th of December, the service will be the usual holiday service, but with 16 additional trains from early afternoon until the evening. These reinforcements will cover the route Palma-Inca in both directions.

Reduced Timetable for the 24th and 31st of December

Daytime services will end earlier on the 24th and 31st of December:

  • Last regular departure from Palma: 20:55 h (Palma-Inca)
  • Last departure to Palma: 21:40 h (Inca-Palma)

Afterwards, the special night timetables will begin.

EMT Palma strengthens Nit Bus services

The Municipal Transport Company of Palma (EMT) has also announced reinforcements in its Nit Bus service for the nights of 24th and 31st December, as well as adjustments to several lines due to the festive period and the suspension of school activities.

Nit Bus Reinforcements: 24th and 31st December

  • Line N1 (Portopí – Porta des Camp):
    • Frequency reduced to 15 minutes (usual: 30 minutes).
    • Operating hours: From 1:15 a.m. and throughout the night.
  • Additional service on 31st December:
    • Route: s’Arenal – pl. de la Reina.
    • Frequency: 60 minutes.
  • Important:
    • On 24th and 31st December, all lines running after 9:00 p.m. will not have departures scheduled beyond that time.

Schedule Adjustments: 23rd December – 7th January

  • Affected lines:
    • L5, L7, L8, L10, and L19.
    • Removal of school service reinforcements on all other lines.

Additional Reinforcements on Key Dates

  • Reinforcements as needed on lines with high passenger demand until 5th January.

Special Service on Centre Ciutat Line (CC)

  • Frequency: Every 35 minutes (as on weekdays).
  • Days with additional service:
    • Every Saturday in December and 4th January.
    • Sundays and public holidays with commercial openings (22nd and 29th December, and 5th January).

Lines 27 and 28 (Circular Son Llàtzer):

  • Extended service on Sundays and public holidays with commercial openings, with the same frequency as Saturdays.

Service on 5th January

  • Schedule: All lines will operate on the Saturday timetable.
