Nits a Bellver 2024 kicks off with a concert by Lori Meyers

The Castell de Bellver becomes the epicentre of Palma’s cultural and artistic offerings on summer nights. The Nits a Bellver 2024, starting on 12th June and ending on 30th August, feature thirty activities “ranging from music and jazz to dance, concerts, theatre, and within this last category, classical theatre,” explained Javier Bonet, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture of the Ajuntament de Palma.

The inaugural gala of Nits a Bellver 2024 will be held on Wednesday, 12th June at 8:30 PM with an acoustic recital by Lori Meyers, which will also serve as the kick-off for the new edition of the Mallorca Live Festival. The performance by the Granada-based indie rock band will be preceded by a concert from the Mallorcan group Alanaire and accompanied by the Ibizan DJ Bruno Roth.

The Deputy Mayor has emphasized that with the launch of an initiative like Nits a Bellver, “a change of cycle in cultural policies of the city is being realized, aimed at highlighting the Castell as a space for culture and for culture in Palma”.

Among the most notable proposals are the Jazz Palma Festival, which will open on 1st August; the concert series Estius Simfònics by the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra; the Dance Gala on 20th August; performances by Simfovents under the direction of maestro Francisco Valero-Terribas; and the staging of the play Los bandos de Verona by playwright Francisco de Rojas Zorrilla, which will close Nits a Bellver on 30th August.
