In Mallorca Caprice we are in love with the colour of the almond blossom that can already be seen in many corners of Mallorca. It seems that it has snowed on the island, a very temporary spectacle that you should not miss.

Around seven million almond trees populate the fields of our island. Between the end of January and the beginning of March, the Mallorcan air carries the seductive aroma of pink flowers, which brighten up the eyes with an exceptional symphony of colours.

Where to enjoy this spectacle of nature

There are numerous routes that will allow us to enjoy this natural spectacle. Although Mallorca is full of almond trees, there are specific areas where these crops are concentrated:

The Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site in 2010.
The central-western area of the island. If our starting point is Palma, we will find them in the surroundings of villages as close as Marratxí, Bunyola or Santa María and others like Sencelles, Inca, Lloseta, Selva or Moscari. A very easy and beautiful route is the one that leads from Selva to Moscari, where we will see several fields dyed in white.
The area of Llucmajor also has many fields where we can make a pleasant route by car and stop whenever we want to capture the beautiful landscape with our camera.
The southwest area of Mallorca and also in towns like Manacor, Sant Llorenç or Son Servera.

A fair with its own aroma

In Son Servera at the beginning of February the “Fira de la flor d’ametler” is held, which has already accumulated more than 7 editions. It is a traditional and tourist fair whose main objective is to promote this fruit and offer one more attraction to tourists and local visitors. It usually takes place outside the Cases de Ca’s Hereu estate, an emblematic building dating from the 13th century.

A large number of stands participate in the fair, which is entirely dedicated to almonds. They offer the public a wide variety of products made with this typically Mallorcan fruit, as well as its wood and flowers.

Almond products

Almonds are a widely used raw material in Mallorca. It is the base or is present in products of different kinds: ecological cosmetics, perfumes, handcrafted objects, aromatic candles, oil soaps, etc. It is also one of the main ingredients in the sweets of popular gastronomy.

In Mallorca Caprice we already feel like trying them all. And you?
