The Fundació Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears will broadcast its next two concerts online for free through its website, YouTube channel and the social networks of both the Orchestra and IB3. This formula will replace the in-person celebration with the public to minimize risks and as an added preventive measure in the face of the third wave of the pandemic. With the use of technology, Simfònica also broadens the scope of its proposal and will reach the whole of society.
The first of the two concerts -the eighth of the season- will be broadcast online this Saturday 23 and Sunday 24, at 8:00 p.m., from the Trui Teatre. The oboist of the Symphony, Carlos Fortea, will be the soloist and will interpret the concerto for oboe by Bohuslav Martinu, one of the most complex for this instrument. The program will be completed with Masques te bergamasques suite Op. 112 by Gabriel Fauré; Le Tombeau de Couperin Op.68 by Maurice Ravel and Card Game by Igor Stravinski. This seasonal concert will be directed by Pablo Mielgo.
The same broadcast and online media formula will be used for the extraordinary concert at the Teatre Principal in Palma, which will be broadcast live on the 28th, at 8:00 p.m., and will be repeated on January 30 and 31 at the same time.
The program includes pieces by Ma Mere L’Oye by Ravel and Pulcinella by Stravinsky under the direction of Pablo Urbina.
