The sub-zero temperatures that have been reached over the last few hours in Mallorca (the minimum, -2.3 ºC, was recorded in the Serra d’Alfàbia at 6:10 am), have left a snowfall in the Serra de Tramuntana that the Mallorcan geographer Alberto Darder has described as “the heaviest in the last five years”.

At the Monnàber tunnel in Fornalutx, up to 7 cm of snow has been recorded, and the snowfall has forced sections of the road to be closed.
