The Ajuntament de Palma has announced an exciting new addition to the Sant Sebastià 2025 celebrations: the exhibition “ADN Sant Sebastià”, designed to delve into the history and evolution of this emblematic festival for the city. This announcement was made following the Junta de Govern on 2 October 2024, with government spokesperson Mercedes Celeste leading the communication.

Objective of the exhibition

The exhibition aims to highlight the most important historical and cultural aspects of the Sant Sebastià festival, showcasing its evolution over time. With an investment of more than 28,700 euros, the display will include historical posters and promotional material, as well as testimonies from people who have witnessed the transformation of the festival over the years.

The project includes not only the creation and assembly of the exhibition but also its maintenance and dismantling once it is over. According to Celeste, the purpose is to expand the programme of activities for the festival, as these celebrations represent one of the most significant events organised by the Ajuntament, and one of the most eagerly anticipated by the residents of Palma.

A more inclusive and diverse programme

The councillor emphasised that the Ajuntament de Palma aims to ensure that the Sant Sebastià celebrations continue to be inclusive and diverse, offering a range of activities including music, sports, theatre, and popular culture, all with the aim of appealing to a wide variety of tastes and audiences.

Additionally, during the same Junta de Govern, approval was given for the hiring and rental and installation of stages for the Sant Sebastià events, with a budget of over 72,000 euros. This will cover the installation of the necessary infrastructure to ensure the success of the festive activities.
