The Teatro de Barra 2020 reaches its seventeenth edition this year. This show competition will take place for seven consecutive Thursdays, from October 15 to November 26 in the Blanquerna neighborhood. “Second Season” is the title of the 2020 edition, which will take small-format works to some very particular settings that will deal with television series.

As a novelty, and in order to adapt to the current health situation, the days are extended and the passes are reduced: there will be 7 Thursdays but with 4 passes a day and not 5. The goal, according to the organizers, is to reach the same number of spectators than other years, despite the capacity being reduced to 50%.

The price of the tickets goes up 50 cents and is set at 4 euros. They can be purchased in advance at the Drac Màgic bookstore and the Bar In Café. The final will take place at the Mar y Tierra municipal theater on Friday, November 27.

“Following in the line of decentralizing and democratizing culture, the Palma City Council is collaborating for the seventeenth edition in this theatrical proposal”, said Miquel Àngel Contreras, general director of Música i Arts Escèniques. “The proximity and small-format theater is a luxury for the city of Palma, as evidenced by the great public success achieved by the Barra Theater in each edition,” added Marcos Augusto Lladó, general director of Promoció i Difusió Cultural.
