The gastronomic, representative and most traditional delicacies of the Balearic Islands will be offered in their own stand at the Gourmets Hall in Madrid, which will be held between October 18 and 21.

Salón Gourmets is the most important annual showcase of high-end food and beverages aimed exclusively at gastronomy professionals.

The General Directorate of Policies for Food Sovereignty has organized attendance at the fair under the slogan “Four islands to savor.” According to the general director, Paula Valero, the objective is “to show the agri-food products of each of the islands, as well as the diversity and gastronomic richness that characterize them.”

Balearic flavor: an exhibition of delicacies

The Balearic space will surprise attendees with an exhibition of traditional gastronomy and tastings organized by the Association of Chefs Based in the Balearic Islands (ASCAIB) and the Balearic Association of Sommeliers (ABS). Chefs from Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera will offer the tasting of 12 dishes with 50 servings each. At the same time, sommeliers will do wine and spirits tastings.

“We have products from the Balearic Islands that are highly valued and well-known outside the islands, and others that are not so, and we also want to make them known,” explained Valero.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mae de la Concha, will attend the opening of the fair on October 18. On October 20, at 4:45 p.m., it will also present a round table called ‘4 islands to savor’ with their pairings. It will be held in the ‘Show Cooking Gourmet’ space, located in Hall 4 A50, and will consist of looking for the ideal pairing for each of the dishes that the chefs have prepared during the days of the fair.
