The group of temporary teachers, who have been demanding improvements in their working conditions for some time, delivers a manifesto with their demands at the Education Ministry. Nearly 200 teachers without a permanent position have had enough and continue their protests to express their dissatisfaction with what they consider a progressive loss of rights and the deterioration of their working conditions. This morning they go to the Education Ministry to deliver a manifesto that includes the demand for better working conditions.

Yesterday afternoon, they gathered in Plaza España in Palma dressed in black “in a sign of mourning” for the “death” of their rights. During the demonstration, organized outside of the unions, banners with slogans such as “Prou” (enough, in Catalan) or “Here rest our rights” could be seen.

For this group, the straw that broke the camel’s back was last Friday, when they found out that they had to sign up for the extraordinary competition-examination, paying the fee of 83 euros and even if there were no places in their specialty, if they did not want to lose their indemnity in case of losing their job. In addition to the protest of having to sign up for the call, the teachers also demand that the exams be by islands, as was done before, and that the insularity be taken into account. They also demand a solution for the interim technical teachers of FP, as has been adopted in other autonomous communities, and demand to receive the summer pay when appropriate. They also criticize the high price of the fees of the Education Ministry to participate in selection processes, which they consider the highest in the state.
