One of the most important acts of Princess Leonor as heir arrives, the swearing in of the Spanish Constitution. So decrees Article 61 of the Magna Carta, which also stipulates that the heir swear allegiance to the King. Her father, Felipe VI, did the same at the time, on January 30, 1986.

The act of swearing in of the Constitution is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Congress of Deputies. The Chamber of Deputies has been adapted for the occasion, replacing the 350 seats with 600 chairs. The ceremony is expected to be attended by deputies, senators, presidents of the autonomous communities, institutional officials and members of the acting government and the Royal Family.

In this, Princess Leonor will make her entrance through the Lions Gate, accompanied by her family and her escort, the Royal Guard Squadron. After being received by the presidents of the Congress and the Senate, Francina Armengol and Pedro Rollán, respectively, she will greet the presidents of the Constitutional Court and the General Council of the Judiciary.

After entering the chamber, the national anthem will be played and Princess Leonor will swear the Magna Carta. Afterwards, she will be presented with the medals of the Congress and the Senate and the signing of honor will take place in the Hall of Ministers. The royal family will greet the guests in the Salón de los Pasos Perdidos and, at the end of the ceremony, the military parade will take place in the Carrera de San Jerónimo.

Once the swearing-in ceremony is over, the King and Queen of Spain, together with the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta Sofia, will move to the Royal Palace in Madrid, where the Collar of the Royal and Distinguished Spanish Order of Carlos III will be awarded.

The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Margalida Prohens, will travel to Madrid on the occasion of the solemn session.
