The Mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, has met with the writer Camilo José Cela Conde, collaborator of the magazine Mallorca Global Mag, to inform him first hand that the next award for novel in Spanish of the Premios Ciutat de Palma will be named after his father, the Nobel Prize for Literature Camilo José Cela, among other awards

The mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, and the first deputy mayor of Tourism and Culture, Javier Bonet, met this Friday with Camilo José Cela Conde to inform the writer of the magazine Mallorca Global Mag that the next award for novel in Spanish of the Premios Ciutat de Palma (Awards) will be named after his father, Camilo José Cela.

During the meeting, both Martínez and Bonet explained the different cultural projects planned in the municipality, such as the interpretation center of Palma and the intention of highlighting historical and cultural personalities linked to the city, including the Nobel Prize winner. For his part, Cela Conde, also a writer and professor at the UIB, thanked the government team for the initiative to include in the contest a reference to his father and the intention to remember his figure and work.
