This weekend the theaters in Palma will reopen at 30% occupancy. After 15 days closed, the shows “Anatomy of fear” and “The Odyssey of Ulises Centelles” resume the Palma scene on Friday 29.

Antoni Noguera, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Social Welfare of Palma, declared that “it is important to continue keeping culture alive in our city as a measure of support for creators at a time of such vulnerability in the sector”. In addition, Noguera affirmed that “we have demonstrated throughout all this time that culture is safe: so far there has been no contagion in any cultural activity in the Balearic Islands”.

The reopening of the theaters in Palma will be done with 30% of their occupation. And they do so in compliance with current sanitary measures. For this reason, the programming must end at 8:00 p.m. Schedule that allows compliance with current restrictions and curfew.

“Anatomy of fear” and “The Odyssey of Ulises Centelles”

The Xesc Forteza Theater is the first to reopen. On January 29, 30 and 31, it hosts the dance show “Anatomy of fear.” A proposal included within the program “Scene”. It is a journey to the intimate country of fear, to the interior of human vulnerability. The aim of the play is to enter the world of fear to emerge, if possible, more courageous. A show of collective creation with dramaturgy by Joan Fullana and choreography by Mireia Sans Aleu.

“The Odyssey of Ulises Centelles”, by Iguana Teatre, will be the second play of this reopening of the theaters in Palma. Framed in the cycle of children’s and youth theater “Despite Much”, it is a maritime adventure starring a descendant of the protagonist of the Odyssey. A story in the key of comedy that takes place in a Mediterranean collapsed by tourist saturation. Recommended for boys and girls between 5 and 12 years old, it will take place on January 30 at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday 31 at 12:00 p.m. at the Catalina Valls Municipal Theater.
