Miquel Àngel Salvà, vicepresidente PIMEM-Comerç

More than a week after the winter sales began in Mallorca, the vice-president of PIMEM-Comerç, Miquel Àngel Salvà, told this newspaper that “they are a little slower than the sales of previous years. The cash was made in October and November, but in December and now, in the sales after the Epiphany, sales are sluggish”.

Salvà explained that this situation is due to two reasons. On the one hand, the good weather has had an impact on the sale of fashion and footwear: “It hasn’t been cold and everything related to fashion and winter is at a standstill, although there are significant discounts”.

On the other hand, the discount vouchers launched by the Government to boost local shops between October and November, “made many people bring forward their purchases because they are still advanced sales that worked very well,” he said.
