With the clear objective of seducing British tourists, the Consell de Mallorca has launched a promotional strategy that tries to set the destination as an ideal place to practice active tourism both at an amateur and professional level.

At the next British tourism fair, which will be held in London from November 1 to 3, the dissemination of cycling, golf, tennis and sailing, among other activities, aims to recover this market, the second main source of tourists.

“We return to the World Travel Market by promoting more sustainable and quality tourism. In Mallorca we collect all the conditions,” said the president of the Consell de Mallorca, Catalina Cladera, together with the Minister of Tourism and Esports, Andreu Serra.

Due to the health crisis and Brexit, the island received 10.7% of tourists this year than it usually received. The goal is to recover data from 2019, when 2.39 million British visitors arrived.

The initiative seeks that these activities take place throughout the year. In this sense, Mallorca is the sports venue for major international events such as the Road to Mallorca, the Mallorca Golf Open, the Mallorca Challenge, the UCI Track Championships for cycling or the ATP Mallorca Championships for tennis.

The presidents of the Golf federations, Bernardí Jaume; Cycling, Fernando Gilet; and Tennis, Cristóbal Bennàssar. The president of the golf courses, Lluis Nigorra, also attended.
