The spring-summer 2026 edition of Mallorca Global Mag is now available at newsstands, regular distribution points and for download online. With 132 pages, the magazine offers a broad and cross-cutting look at current affairs in Mallorca, with reports, interviews and analysis that reflect the major debates and changes shaping the island today.
Among the key features in this edition is an interview with the president of CAEB, Carmen Planas, who calls for the need to “bring the shadow economy into the formal economy” and reflects on female leadership in business: “Women have a broader, more human and closer vision”. The magazine also analyses the impact of the housing crisis on the immigrant population through the forum Mallorca in the Spotlight, with accounts from the consuls of Morocco, Argentina and Finland.
Another major report in this issue focuses on the fitness boom in Mallorca and on how the cult of the body has become a multi-million-euro industry linked to health, aesthetics, social media and pressure over image. In addition, Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry Andreu Palou explores how weight-loss drugs are opening new paths in the treatment of addictions to tobacco and alcohol.
The magazine also looks at the impact of extreme heat on health in the Balearic Islands, Mallorca’s food fragility in the event of a break in maritime supply routes and the total solar eclipse of 2026, which will turn the island into one of the world’s great astronomical viewing points. Two-time world champion Malén Sart defends sustainable spearfishing, while, from a historical perspective, Palma chronicler Bartomeu Bestard reconstructs the autos-da-fé against the Chuetas, the origin of discrimination that endured for centuries in Mallorca.
Culture once again takes a prominent place in this edition, with a journey ranging from the rise of the k-pop phenomenon in the Balearic Islands to the artistic career of Miquel Barceló and the construction of fear in horror cinema with Mallorcan screenwriter Ernest Riera. The publication also includes a major photographic journey through Tanzania, the cradle of humanity.
As usual, Mallorca Global Mag brings together recommendations for books, albums, films and exhibitions, along with a full events agenda through to October to make the most of your free time.
