The Cap Vermell Group’s luxury resort in Canyamel has added a work by the great Italian artist Emanuelle Giannelli to its important art collection.

It is a sculpture of colossal dimensions that represents a male figure pushing or supporting the very architecture of its location. The work is designed with all the muscles in tension, thus showing the ambivalence as the artist’s own intention.

Thus, from now on, this 3-metre high naked white giant presides over, and seems to support or push, depending on one’s interpretation, one of the façades of Cap Vermell Grand Hotel, in a clear homage to perseverance, effort and dedication.

“From the first moment I saw it, thanks to the art consultant based in Lugano, Olga Daniele, owner of Art365, I was totally impressed and trapped, as it reflects the commitment, perseverance and passion with which all of us in the Cap Vermell Group work every day to offer the best experience to our clients; The drama of the work, with the expression of the giant’s suffering to support the building, symbolises for me the resilience, resistance and strength that the hotel industry as a whole – employees, suppliers, entrepreneurs – has shown during the crisis that we have suffered due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is a tribute to all of them”, explained Toni Mir, CEO of Cap Vermell Group.

“With this work we want to go beyond the mind, we want to reach the heart and above all stimulate the curiosity and interpretation of everyone who sees it”. The aim, he concluded, “is to follow the path of the artist’s own language, which aims, with all his works, to provoke, move and even overwhelm the observer”, added Mir.

“For me it is an honour to have a work in Cap Vermell, Mallorca, as it is my first piece in Spain. Mr Arbitrium has given me a lot of joy and I hope that the meaning it has for me will inspire those who see it,” declared the Italian artist.

It is worth remembering that Emanuelle Gianelli, a contemporary sculptor born in Rome, is a visceral artist who creates his works in his studio in Tuscany. He is a lover of contemporaneity and human nature. His works are innovative and transport us into the mysterious world of human thought, reflection and ambivalence. Giannelli is a provocateur of emotions through his works.
