The XVI edition of the Jazz Voyeur Festival 2023 will bring the curtain down on December 15 at the Teatre Principal paying tribute to one of the most important jazz artists that this country has given, Tete Montoliu. Among others, the Chicago Mass Choir, Matt Bianco and Maria del Mar Bonet will perform between November 4 and December 15
Tradition and the most contemporary rhythms of jazz will come together in the same line-up at the Jazz Voyeur Festival. Some of the most important international figures of the genre will share one more year space with the Balearic talent. It will be five dates full of concerts, master classes, cinema and inclusion for a unique cultural proposal on the island.
Names like Ignasi Terraza, Perico Sambeat and María del Mar Bonet will take the stage of the Teatre Principal on December 15. Then they will interpret the most emblematic themes in tribute to Tete Montoliu.
Program of the Jazz Voyeur Festival 2023
Trui Teatre will host different performances by Balearic and international artists from November 4 to December 14:
- November 4. Matt Bianco will fuse the Latin rhythms with pop and jazz that made the British band a pioneer in the 80s.
- November 7. Imaràntia’, the duo formed by Miquel Brunet and Maria Josep Cardona, will arrive from Formentera to represent on stage the warm sound of the Pitiusas.
- November 11th. Pedro Rosa Cuarteto will pay tribute to Brazilian culture, fusing it with exquisite taste and elements from jazz and Afro music. They are in charge of bringing the dynamic and colorful rhythm.
- On December 14. The Chicago Mass Choir – winner of the most prestigious award that can be obtained in the world of Gospel, the Stellar Award for best choir of the year 2017 – will present ‘B.B. King Spiritual’. A heartfelt tribute to the king of the blues and legend of American popular music.
