Pending DNA tests, it is being investigated whether the body recovered this Monday by the Guardia Civil in Cala Falcó, Manacor, between s’Illot and Cala Millor, could belong to one of the two crew members of the sailboat that disappeared more than a week ago while sailing from Cala Galdana to Cala d’Or during the storm. For its part, The investigation of the missing sailboat Makan Angin has recovered a second body floating in Porto Cristo.

The Guardia Civil is awaiting the decisive DNA tests to identify the body found this Monday in the waters of Cala Falcó, Manacor. According to sources close to the incident, the body recovered is in very poor condition and is not identifiable. A helicopter and members of the Special Group of Underwater Activities have worked in the rescue operation of the lifeless body.

The body was reported on Sunday afternoon and initially a Salvamento Marítimo boat was also involved, but had to withdraw due to bad weather conditions.

Likewise, the search for the Makan Angin sailboat and its two crew members has resumed this Monday, with the Salvamar Mimosa being mobilised from the Palma Rescue Control Centre. A Salvamento Marítimo aircraft is also taking part in the search.

The authorities have been searching since Sunday 27 August for a father and son, aged 50 and 19 respectively and of German nationality, who were on board a sailing boat from Cala Galdana to Cala d’Or on Sunday, a day on which Mallorca was on orange alert due to the storm, which caused injuries and rescues and even the collision of boats.

The sailboat had left Cala Galdana with two crew members on board at 10:00 am on Saturday 26 August for Cala d’Or. They never arrived and no contact was made with the boat.
