On Sunday, October 6, Esporles will celebrate the XVIII edition of the Fira Dolça. An event that has become a true celebration of the rich pastry and local products of the Balearic Islands. This 2024, the fair promises to be even more special with the incorporation of new activities and a festive atmosphere for the whole family.
The mayor of Esporles, Josep Ferrà, along with the councilor for Economic Promotion, Jaume Terrassa, have recently presented the fair’s poster. The design is by Joan González, photographed by local artist Margarida Carrió. This presentation has generated great excitement among the residents and visitors of the town, who are eager to enjoy a day full of sweetness and fun.

One of the most notable novelties this year will be the “Dolça Nit de l’Art”, which will take place on Saturday, October 5. During this day, attendees will enjoy a wide variety of local works and artists, as well as a wine and cake pairing, thanks to the collaboration of the Denomination of Origin Pla and Llevant and the renowned pastry chef Lluís Pérez. The inauguration of an exhibition by artist Tete Matas will also be part of this event, which will be complemented by music and a party hosted by Verdesca, as an appetizer for the big celebration on Sunday.
On the day of the Fira Dolça 2024, Esporles will transform into a feast for the senses. Bakeries, shops, and businesses will offer a wide variety of sweets and artisanal products. Visitors will be able to taste classics of Mallorcan pastry such as ensaïmades, crespells, coques, ice creams, and an abundance of chocolate, all distributed among the colorful stalls and stands that will adorn the most central streets of Esporles.

In addition to the gastronomic offerings, the fair will feature an extensive cultural and artistic program suitable for all audiences. Performances by the Banda Lira Esporlerina, the Rondalla Maristel·la, 9 Circ Social, and the Batucada Batukadell, among others, will guarantee a festive atmosphere. There will also be gatherings of embroiderers, folk dances with Es Revetlers and Ramellets, chainsaw contests, as well as showcookings with renowned chefs like Juan Antonio Fernández, known for his participation in the program “5 días” on IB3. For those interested in gluten-free cooking, Laura Albertí and Maria Xumet will conduct demonstrations.
The little ones will also have their space, with children’s activities, circus exhibitions, and parades with the xeremiers and the Gegantons. Additionally, the town will be adorned with the sweetest and most fun decorations, crafted by students from the school and the Day Center, which will beautify the facade of the Town Hall and the Promenade.
