The XXIII Fira de la Mel de Llubí 2023 will be held this Sunday, 19th November. The ‘fira’ will occupy the village’s Carretera square with its traditional stalls offering products related to the world of bees and beekeeping. This year there will be a much larger number of honey professionals.

From 10 am this Sunday morning, the Fira de la Mel de Llubí opens its doors with a wide variety of samples and tastings of products, such as the traditional sobrassada amb mel. There will also be exhibitions of work, activities and drawings about bees created by the children of CEIP Duràn Estrany and the Moixaina school.

In addition, the prize for the Concurs de Cartells 2023 will be awarded. In the afternoon, the children’s group Upidubi will perform, followed by a ‘xocolatada’ (chocolate tasting) offering a tasting of ‘ensaïmada’ and ‘coques de patata’, made by the Forn de Can Gelabert and the Forn de Ca’s Cero.

After Sunday’s ‘fira’, the programme of activities continues on Monday: At 5 p.m. there is a storytelling event at the Library and the workshop Ballam la Veu, which focuses on the fight against male violence. It will take place between 5 pm and 8 pm in Sa Farinera.

On Saturday 25th November, after the reading of the manifesto against violence against women, the Mostra de Ball de les Illes will be followed by the Ballada popular. In addition, theatre and storytelling will be held on Tuesday the 28th, as part of the Fira Tradicional (Traditional Fair). This will offer a wide variety of stalls and events, such as the traditional popular ‘Bunyolada’, at 18.00 in the Plaça de l’Esglèsia. Later, on 1st and 2nd December, the Concurs de Mels de les Illes Balears will be held to bring the Fira de la Mel 2023 to a close.
