Mare de Déu del Carme 2024 in Port d'Andratx, from 9th to 16th July

The much-awaited Festes de la Mare de Déu del Carme 2024 in Port d’Andratx start today, Tuesday, July 9th, and will end next Tuesday, July 16th. This week of patronal festivities is one of the most prominent and traditional events in the municipality. Celebrated annually, these festivities bring together residents and visitors in a series of activities designed for the whole family.

This year, the festival program includes a variety of events that reflect the rich cultural tradition of Port d’Andratx. Among the highlighted activities are the correfocs, revetllas and their live music concerts, the Nit del Cavall, a children’s fishing contest, a Habaneras night, and the iconic maritime procession which will take place on Tuesday, July 16th, the main day of these patronal festivities. These events are eagerly anticipated by the community and help create a festive and celebratory atmosphere.

New Features

Additionally, as a new feature this year, an exhibition and book presentation on barques de bou has been organized. This special event will allow attendees to learn more about the history and significance of these traditional boats in the maritime life of the port.
The organization of the festivities is managed by the Ajuntament d’Andratx and supported by the Cofradia de Pescadors, whose work is essential for the success of the event. Their contribution is valued by the community, as they help to keep this tradition alive year after year, uniting the inhabitants of Port d’Andratx.

The Festes de la Mare de Déu del Carmen are an opportunity to celebrate and strengthen community bonds, offering a space where tradition, culture, and fun come together.
