Evolution Film Festival 2022: programme

The Evolution Film Festival 2022 will be held in Mallorca from 26 October to 1 November. In one week, the cultural event will screen 127 films from 24 countries. This year, the EMIFF (Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival) will present the Mallorca Film Award to actress Nastassja Kinski. It will be presented at the opening gala by the Mallorca Film Commission. Although the rest of the awards will be announced during the festival, the organisers have already announced some of them. Danish filmmaker Lone Scherfig and Spanish actress Laia Costa will be recognised for their role in promoting women in the film industry. In addition, cinematographer Ed Lanchman will receive the Evolution Cinematographer ICON Award.

The inaugural gala of the Evolution Film Festival 2022 will be held on 26th October at Palma’s Teatre Principal. Ruben Östlund’s feature film “Triangle of Sadness” will be screened for the occasion. The film was awarded the Palme d’Or at Cannes 2022 and will be attended by the director.

The founder of the EMIFF, Sandra Lipski, highlighted during the presentation that seven of the ten international fiction feature films included in the festival are first works. In addition, this year 2022 will give a great place to the talent of the islands with up to 30 projects Made in Baleares (MIB).
